Inograft Biotherapeutics

“Whatever IT problem I come across, big or small, Pliancy always has the right support.”

Amy Thai

Inograft Biotherapeutics is a recently launched biotechnology company based in Redwood City, CA. Inograft is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the development of novel non-genotoxic conditioning regimens for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

You’ve worked for a number of our client companies since 2018. Can you share your path and what you’ve come to expect from Pliancy?

I started working at Forty Seven when they were still a Pliancy client, then I moved to IconOVir [another former Pliancy client], and now I’m at Inograft. I love the way that Pliancy sets environments up. With your platforms and with Okta, things are seamless. Many people don’t understand the inner workings and complexities of IT, but Pliancy does that and makes everything feel easy. I can rely on you and trust your team. Pliancy has a “we get it” quality and that means I never have to worry about IT, because I know you have it covered.

When collaborating with your Pliancy team, what qualities stand out to you?

Respect, open communication, and a sense of collaboration are key to the relationship we have with Pliancy. Inograft and Pliancy share a sense of passion for what we do. We’re motivated, want to do good work, and we have a mutual understanding that we’re coming together for a reason.

It all comes down to the people. Pliancy has done a great job with hiring. Every consultant I’ve had the pleasure of working with has been great. Whatever IT problem I come across, big or small, Pliancy always has the right support.

My role is more behind-the-scenes, and Zim [Killgore, primary consultant] and I collaborated on how to get Inograft set up. Since I’m less familiar with the lab environment, when lab needs came up I connected the R&D team with Zim, helped project manage the work, and made sure their needs were met. He was great, and he pulled in additional support from the Pliancy team so things were set up properly. I really value our partnership.

At Pliancy, we’re all about using technology to improve people’s day-to-day experiences. How has Pliancy made your life easier?

At a previous biotech startup, we were doing everything in-house including onboarding new employees. I was tasked with purchasing laptops and computers and manually installing applications and setting everything up. Pliancy’s back-end, streamlined onboarding process was different and efficient. The first time I saw Screen Connect, I thought, ‘This is amazing.’ The value was even clearer during COVID when we were working from home and everything became virtual. We were able to adapt and adjust with Pliancy’s platform and capabilities. The things I’ve seen from Pliancy have been, to me, game-changing.

What has it been like to partner with multiple Pliancy consultants over time?

I’ve enjoyed working with every consultant at Pliancy. There have been many accomplishments, a lot of laughs and good times, and work relationships that have extended into friendships. I know the San Diego team really well; Jon Schwartz [managing consultant for San Diego & Austin] was our first consultant, then I worked with Jimmy Josan [senior consultant] at IconOVir. I’ve also worked with Mariam [Noureddine, now projects engineer], who is now in the Bay Area and was one of our backup consultants.

When I was living in San Diego, my husband and I joined a softball league with folks from Pliancy because they needed more players. I was reluctant at first but ended up having a lot of fun. That experience made me feel like I was part of the Pliancy team. When my family and I visit San Diego, we still try to meet up with Jimmy and his family—it’s been great staying connected.
